Hey folks! Me again :D Bet your sick of me by now!

Oliver's put himself into a strange routine lately, and I dont know if I should be concerned or not.
In the morning, he's lying underneath the rubber anenome on the gravel, if I open the lid he comes up to eat. After eating, he'll swim around for about half an hour or so (Sometimes the swimming becomes erratic.) and after that, he'll resume his position under the anenome until the next morning. When he is up at the top of the tank during feeding, his behaviour is fairly normal. He'll follow my finger, attempt to jump at me, etc.

There was ammonia at 5ppm a few days ago, but I did a large water change and its now at 0.
Not sure if his scales look right, will upload a photo later. :)

Ammonia that spikes that high is more than likely to cause gill damage. Leading to breathing difficulties and swimming issues. He'll no doubt be resting and won't be that active with damaged gills. Apart from that he could just be lazy.

I cant see any physical damage to his gills, if it is that though, is there anything I can do help him?

Phew! :) I'm sure with good water quality from now on he'll be just fine. Do you know what may have caused the spike?

Yes, for some reason the filter ended up clogged up quicker than usual - Not sure If I missed cleaning it or something. After that was cleaned, ammonia went back down.
