I am currently considering breeding and selling bettas... I would like to know if there is anyone out there doing this, have done it, ect. ect. I'm not looking to get rich, just want to make enough money to support the hobby, and maybe a bit more. My finances are stiff right now... Your input on this type of venture would be greatly appriciated!

well 1st you'll need a high quality breeding pair, which usually runs $75 + or so. And secondly you'll need a buyer, good luck with that, seems to me that it can't be that much of a profitable business since everyone and their neighbor breeds them

If you want to breed fish maybe you should invest in something rare and hard to find, just a suggestion ;)

Time for some of my stupid questions again. ;) Been curious about breeding bettas, though more for fun and the experience than any financial gain. Where can you get a high quality breeding pair? Would you need to get them from different places to avoid inbreeding?

;) I don't know about Finland but in ozland theres a thing called a newspaper (like completely buying/selling paper) theres a whole section for fish so if theres a paper like that try that. Bettas aren't a profitable business as so many breeders are doing it at the moment. I breed my bettas for a LFS i don't have any special breeding type but I sell them to the LFS for $3.5 male and $2 female. They sell them for $10 male 6.45 female. Anyway its not very profitable i do it as a hobby and it provides me with something to do and make a bit of money. I don't think I really make any money becuase caring for the fry costs a bit too. ;) It took me ages for a LFS to buy my fry but it happened in the end. Hey ask around.
