Okay searched everywhere for a betta barracks setup and still no luck where I can just buy one for my fry when they get to the size where they need to be housed seperatly. So now I looked into making my own alot of work alot of math and alot of math and did i mention alot of math erm.....

Well the heart of the system is to filter anywhere from 1-100+ Containers little aquariums ranging from eaither .5gal to 1gal ea not sure on what ones I want to go with yet still in the design process of this betta wall. So speaking of sumps these are designs I figured might help although I am using food safe containers for the media and a rubbermaid storage container, I have some concers I will address later with this but for now is the design of the sump.

What are you opionions on this setup and do you think any of them will work and what do you think would be the best and where could improvments be made I included the schematic as well as photos of the actual products I am using to give a general Idea

What one do you like

This is what one of the setups would look like and able to close the lid

What are your opionions, the reason for adding more than 1 pump is because I plan on having more than 1 row of these schematic is to come on why such a big sump for such little guys, each row would have there own pumps basically or each tier (Level)

Always room for improvements and I also want to know the exact reason for a refugium and could one be built in this I am guessing not though, just a home for benefitial bacteria and maybe housing 1 individual betta in here lmao jk

a "refugium" for that type of system would be nothing more than adding some potted plants and moss balls to the sump to help with nitrates.
youre best bet is to go with a single (small) pump, and have the containers flow in sequence. and keeping the lid closed will help with the noise.

refugium sounds easy, hmm.... is there any point for a refugium for a system like this is it only the nitrates it would help with guessing it would help with water quality period like a planted tank would.

So you are saying from container to container? Feed it up to the top and let gravity do its part?
I had something like this in mind but I like the direction you are thinking
This would explain the operation

This is probably what finished product will look like
