I have my rather small tank (think it's just under 10 gallons) which at the moment I have got two Platys living in, they had to go in there due to bullying that was taking place (between Platys) and now they seem so much happier - eating more and very colourful.

I had been thinking what to put in this tank before there was anything in it and had sort of decided on maybe getting a Betta. So my question is, is this at all possible with the two Platys? Obviously I don't want to cause upset and would never do it if people say they will fight. I was just wondering because having to move these Platys has caused me all sorts of problems but I refuse to get rid of them as they are great and very friendly :good:

It all depends on the betta, I've had some that can live with any thing and some that will kill any thing. If you do decide to get a betta atleast have another tank to keep it in if they don't get along. It all depends on the betta, I've had some that can live with any thing and some that will kill any thing. Ive never had a betta so not sure but Ive had similar problems with platys (male). If you add females the bullying shouldnt be too bad as the bullys are distracted. If you add more males the bullying is spread out. My 3 platys are ok now when I had 2 it was a nightmare. Plan to add 2 more as my white platy is still a bit of a target. Platys are always refered to as good beginner fish but I havent kept anything more aggresive than a male platy. Sorry to go off track good luck with your betta. :good:
