Betta and his babys

Hey i was just wondering Ive got this betta I kept from a spawn about a yr ago... well anyway his just spawned with a beutiful red betta! but some of the eggs left the female before the male had mated with her. will the male eat these eggs and any other infertile eggs or will he just eat the eggs with fungus on them?

im just asking cause i didnt want him to put a whole lot of unfertile eggs in the nest.. would a betta do that?

The male "should" eat the infertile eggs, but some males just aren't good nest tenders (although most are good). Nothing you can do about it, just wait and see and don't worry about it

well it looks as though his gobbled all the infertile eggs up now because there no eggs on the floor and not many extra eggs in the nest soo i think his a good father.. i hope

Good luck, let us know how it goes and if you have fry in a couple of days

Also, there could be more eggs in the nest then you realize, sometimes it's hard to see them all and more times than not breeders are surprised at how many fry they end up with cause they didn't think there were that many eggs, Lol.

yer last time me and my bro breed bettas i thought we only had like 15 eggs... well we ended up with like 120 fry!!! lol
