Betta and cory in tiny tank

I have seen a few people who say they have more than a betta in a 2.5 gal. My lfs also said I could put a couple of corries in each of my 2.5 gal minibows. But technically it is way overstocking. I wouldn't do it until it cycled (who knows how long that will be!!), but can I do this?. I know bettas like their solitary lives, but I would be happier if he had some company.
I am hoping later this year to trade up to 5 gal tanks (or 10) for each of my bettas. Then I know I can do it, but how about now?

I wouldn't put anything else in the 2.5 other than a betta because of the limited amount of space. That and cories prefer to be in schools.

Thanks! That confirms what I thought, I was just hoping everyone would tell me I could have more fish in there
Just going to have to get more tanks instead!
