Hi! I got some questions about the Betta!

1. Will a almost 2 Gallon-Tank do for one Betta?

2. Will he accept Ghost-Shrimp as Tank-Mates?

3. My Tank has a Airpump, do I HAVE to have an filter? (I have bought one just recently but it takes up a lot space in there)

4. Are Bettas big poopers like Goldfish?

5. How long do they live?

I know there is a lot of Information out there, but every site says something else- I would like to know from your experiences!

Thank you so much for any answers!

Hi, hopefully these answers are in your favour. xD

1. Yup, most bettas have to live in teeny tiny 0.01 cups so a 2 gallon tank is like..a dream home for them. :)

2. Sure, but don't pay alot just in case he decides they'll make a good snack. Every betta's personality is different.

3. Nope, as long as you do two water changes a week of 25% you should be fine.

4. Nope, I find that my betta doesn't produce alot of waste. My experience however.

5. Most bettas are about a year old when you purchase them at your pet store. My now deceased betta, Tango lived for about one year and a half with me and would have probably lived longer if he hadn't died of fin and body rot. :/ Im guessing 2-3 years?

Hope this helped you,
Skylar.

Thank you so much for your answers! Would it be betterif I'd get a pump that sits outsite the tank? Kann a pump be bigger then whats needed in Watervolume or not?

if u can try to look 4 a small pump

1. 2 gallon is fine for a betta, I am sure he will love it!

2. I bought 5 ghost shrimp to accompany my male betta in his 10 gallon and now I only have 2. Most of them were just white and curled up when they died, but one was missing it's head so I don't know if the male betta attacked them or if they just died of something else. :dunno: They were cheap so were probably feeders and not that strong anyway. I have never seen him flare at them or even acknowledge them. He will swim down to the bottom and just look at them and then keep swimming. I would suggest buying 2-3 depending on how much they cost you. I spent anywhere from 10 cents to 30 cents each shrimp so they aren't very expensive.

3. If you are getting the shrimp you'll find the air pump very nice to keep them alive. Although I heard bettas don't really like all that surface aggitation. Maybe you could keep it on a lower setting to make both parties happy? :D You don't need a filter as long as you keep the water clean. If you get the ghost shrimp they'll do a nice job of eating up any leftover food, but vaccuming your gravel is always a good idea.

4. My bettas produce very little waste.

5. The longest living betta I had was 2 years, he would have lived longer but my little sister did a water change without telling anyone and she didn't add dechlor to the water. I think they can live up to 4 years.
