Just went to the hardware store and grabbed an adapter for my kitchen sink to a garden hose...GREAT IDEA!!! it's awesome and i'm so stoked that I too now no longer have to use the ole bucket..lol Thanks a ton!!!
I believe the standard is to add the dechlorinator directly to the tank BEFORE adding water. And you are supposed to add sufficient dechlorinator for the ENTIRE tank of water, not just the amount you are adding.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong. I haven't done it this way. I still use a bucket.
ill tro to remove it again but no promisesI'd almost guarantee that aerator unscrews; http/img829.imageshack.us/img829/8931/sink2.jpg
When the white plastic part with the holes gets plugged with the inevitable supply line debris how else would you clean it? Try grabbing it with a rag & unscrewing, or using a pair of pliers with the rag to prevent scratching. Removing the aerator will provide threads that you can fit an adapter to. My bathroom sink has the same sort of aerator, not a larger one that sticks down, rather a lower profile one.
This is an old but good topic on chlorinated water & aquariums. I add dechlor after filling on most of my tanks, as most are drilled with overflows for water changes.
To prevent halogen ions from reacting with the thiosulphate ions in the dechlorinator, and also to increase the rate in which the chlorine is neutralised, the higher the concentration of thiosulphate ions, the higher the probability of a thiosulphate/chloride ion colliding and the chloride being neutralised.
logically i would think you would add it before, why do u still use a bucket dont you have a 55+ gallon ? lol

Yes, I do have a 56 gallon tank. THe reason I do it with a bucket is because I am cheap and because I could use the exercise!
Nothing like a little cardio (walking back and forth to the sink) mixed with a little weight training (carrying and lifting the bucket).
