Best Tropical Colourful Fish to keep ?

I currently own two Clown Barbs that are, slightly quiet and I would like to compliment them with a bright coloured friend.

What is the best colourful fish to partner others and which is maintained easily.

Dwarf gouramis are nice as are some of the rainbow fish. what size tank are we talking about?
