Best Small Tank Equipment?

I have a small tank which i want to use as a plant holding tank and are looking for a good cheap small heater and filter. Internal or external is not a preference but it has to be able to maintain water temp. The tank is an acrylic one and the dimensions are 30cm x 18cm x 22cm. 3.1 US Gallons to make it simple or 11 litres.

Any ideas??

just buy second hand stuff from ebay even a brand new 25w heater you can get for around £7 or if your willing to wait could get one the ebay stores in hong kong ( delivery takes around 2 weeks ) but there about 4.50 and just look for a interpet mini or something along those lines for a filter

Are you planning on keeping any livestock in it at all? If not then there is no need for a filter, I would personally put a power head in the tank though for a wee bit of circulation. If its just for plants I would also use old tank water (livestocked tank water) as that will act as a fert.

Thanks for the input. This is going to be just a pure planted mini tank so that i can start off new plants etc as it is only 3 gallons.

What power head would u recommend?

You may get away with an air stone for circuation. The smallest powerhead you could buy would be suitable i guess.
