Best Hoover ?

Heya guys, i FINALLY set up my tank, and when i can, i will update my thread thats probably lost far far away !

basically, im just wondering what is the best hoover to clean the crap outta my sand ?

its the only thing i need now and the tank will be alright with the fish in

You can't use a hoover with sand in the same way as you would for gravel,

With sand a simple hosepipe would suffice, siphoned to start and then held a cm or two above the sand so that only the settled waste gets sucked up

I use a piece of tubing 16/22 place it in the water then suck on the end to get the flow started spin the tube so that a cyclone effect is created and you will be able to easily remove the grime.

I just use a gravel vac about an inch above the sand. Works fine. Have to be careful or youll be losing sand though.

I thought it was worth a punt at that price, and it works suprisingly well on my small gravel, so imagine it will be fine with sand.
And you don't have to change the water if you don't want to.

im back to using a clear pipe as above although i do use a water butt to catch the water as it saves me lugging loads of buckets around! my jag is seriously messy so its crapsvill every weekend so now with the water butt i get enough water out for the water change but can focus on the waste at the same time without worring about the bucket end
