i just feed mine tetramin flake food. Idont think it matters that much with zebra danios. They practically never die anyways. Min elived throught the cycle and just went a week without food when the stupid vacation feeder didnt disolve. Something with the temperature.

danios are omnivourous.

I feed mine a wide ranging diet as follows
frozen daphnia (live when I can get it)
frozen bloodworms (live when I can get them)
baby brine shrimp (live when I can get them)
goldfish flake(20%) and aquarium(80%) flake mix
sinking pellets

once a week
a very small piece of apple and or a small piece of banana

Special treat
maybe monthly
chopped prawn.

they also try and steal algea wafers that are for my loaches and catfish.
