I am thinking to change the crisps I feed to my fish (Tetra Pro Menu Crisps) in hopes that maybe my platy's flashing issue could be down to food...

What are your favorite flakes/crisps/pellets for small tropical fish (that I can buy in the UK)? (I have guppies, platies and neon tetras)

I keep running into the same few brands.... Aquarian (which seems to common it can't be good, right?), Tetra (which I have been using), Nutrafin, King British, JBL... forget the few others I saw, didn't impress me though.

i use "Tetra Color" Tropical Granules quite regularily for my larger fish....not as a basic diet, but maybe once every other feeding or every third feeding....i have not come accross any fish that does not like it, they attack it and devour it in no time....

Crisps? I like Pringles best.

Erm, but for fish, I've always used the Sera Granules. They do a "Baby" one too, which are smaller granules, ideal for smaller fish like wot I've got.

Yeah, my fish are liking Tetra Pro but I'm trying to see if its maybe causing my Platy's flashing since she shows no signs of disease and my water quality is fine.

My Tetra Pro Menu calls them crisps on the package... I guess its because they aren't exactly like flakes, more little discs.

I haven't spotted Sera... I shall have a read/look.

I just use aquarian flakes. My fish love them so no need to change. Also i feed with hikari micro pellets.
As i treat i buy live brine shrimp every time i go to my LFS too.

what do u mean by "flashing"?

On threads like this you will get lots of posts from people telling you what they feed and in the end you will have that many suggestions you won't know what is best.

I vary the diet with different things myself.

I feed Tetra Colour Pro crisps every two or three days to my fish. I found it made a difference to the red fins on my Black Phantom Tetras and they began to look a little more colourful. Though BPTs aren't the most colourful of fish. I find that they're good for feeding my shrimps too, as they sometimes break up into bits when the fish bite them and particles sink that the shrimps sweep up. All the fish in my tank devour them with gusto. I feed also Tetra Min flakes and sometimes dried daphnes and live brineshrimps. And frozen bloodworms about once a week. I put Crusta Menu in for the shrimps, who love it, but it's hard to stop the tetras and gourami from trying to intercept it!

I do vary the diet, but the crisps have been the main staple. I was reading a thread somewhere about New Life Spectrum food, which sounded good but it seems awfully difficult to get ahold of even ordering online.

Let me guess, Wardley is the brand they sell? Lol

New Life Spectrum really brings out the colours in my fish. I have never seen black widows that are as glossy black as mine are. My odessa barbs also look brilliant, with the red, yellow and blue.

That's good to know as I have decided to order New Life Spectrum afterall since I haven't yet read any bad reviews on its result and nutritional quality.
