looking to get a canister filter to go on my 55 gallon tank...been scoping fluvals and eheims...which should i get? lol, ive looked at reviews but cant tell which is better than the other...thanks for any help :good:

I'm sure I've answered in one of yoru therads in Tropical Discussion already, but I'll post a summary of each here for you now :good:

The Eheim Exturnals are supposed to be the best in the market, though I have only used the cheap nasty Ecco range... The Pro's and Classics are where to look for them :good:

Fluval Exturnals are rubbish IME. I had mine gave out electric shocks and it was very noisy most of the time... A mate of mine had his wash his floor for him. He'd rather it diden't use tank water, or anywhere near as much of it, next time it does that

For internals, the rolls are reversed ;)

Look at the Eheim 2028's if that route is available
Tetratec's are good alternatives, EX1200's are about the right size.
If you are desporate to get the floor washed, or to be shocked by the performance :shifty: a Fluval 405 is the right size for your's ;)

All the best
