Aren't they cute?? These two are best friends. I feel bad about separating them when I move, but I hate that cat with the passion of a thousand Christs, she's honestly the dumbest cat I have ever seen. It's amazing how much I dislike her, considering I LOVE cats... my inner crazy cat lady is just waiting to burst out when I hit 65. No way I'm taking that thing with me though, especially since I wouldn't be able to throw her outside when she gets annoying anymore

No, she's not humping the cat... this is what happens when the cat doesn't want to play anymore. She just sorta crawls all over it and bites its head :p

All tired out and catching some Zs ^_^

What's wrong with her?
Nothing?

EDIT: If you're talking about why I dislike her so much, it's because she's stupid. She has no concept of personal space and will crawl all over you all the time, which wouldn't be a problem if she could take a hint... you can push her off you over and over again and she'll just come right back. She also doesn't learn... you have no idea how much we've scolded her for messing with our caged birds, but every time we catch her at it it's like the first time. She seemingly has no idea she's not supposed to be doing it, and doesn't understand why you're scolding her
She's sweet as could be, you couldn't ask for a nicer cat, but her elevator doesn't go all the way to the top.

To be honest I'm not surprised.. You keep caged birds and a cat?

Now I know that in some cases cats are fine with caged birds - but all cats have a seperate personality, so it's just possible that this one doesn't like your caged birds.
EDIT: Beautiful cat though... They look lovely together - shame you have to split them up.

That would be such a shame to split them up though :-( they look such good mates and I'm sure they'll miss each other. It looks like they're having great fun :good:
That last pic says it all

i too have an idiot cat but in all fairness he has brain damage and a spinal problem so he really can be forgiven for the stupid things he does.... plus i love him so much i could squeeze him to death  (not that i would)

here he is warming himself infront of the fire.... the fire isnt on of course

It will be such a shame to split them, they certainly get on well. Cats and birds is a not the best mix and I can't see any amount of scolding stopping my cats from messing with caged birds if we had them. One of my cats can't keep away from the box of crickets I keep for some of my pets for food, and however much you tell her not to do it, she just looks at you like you are mad (maybe we are to them, keeping lovely, yummy things and not eating them ourselves). Is it your cat? (what are you doing with it when you move?)

Dont split them up look they are so cute and good together bestest buddies shouldn't be split its just mean!
Please?! (On behalf of your animals happiness and such like) (",)

Uh, yeah? It's not terribly uncommon or anything
Every cat we've ever had in the past has eventually learned to at least leave the birds alone while we are watching, or they lose interest when they figure out they can't get to them. The point is not that she bothers the birds, that's normal, the point is that she seemingly has no idea we don't want her to do it

Yeah I know... another reason I'm not taking her though is that she is indoor-outdoor. We live in the country and it is relatively safe for her to spend time outdoors here, and she LOVES it beyond anything else, but if she were to go with me she'd have to be indoor-only. I don't think that's really fair to her, she has never had to stay indoors when she doesn't want to.

See guys, I'm not a horrible cat-hater
I love her, I really do, I just don't like her. I'm going to be adopting a cat that has been indoor-only for a while and is used to it, that way it's fair to the cat (plus I'll be giving someone a home), and my dog can still have a cat buddy to play with.

Is it your cat? (what are you doing with it when you move?)
Not really. She's a family cat, and is technically my father's. She's staying right where she is, with my parents, that's what's best for her anyway :)

EDIT: To clarify, she annoys the poo out of me, but I do love her and would never give her up for adoption or something like that. If she were my cat and prefered being indoors, I'd take her, but she's not, and she doesn't. Dad would have no problem with me taking her (she annoys him too ), but it's best for her if she stays in the home she grew up in.

Synirr, when I left home I left my 17 year old cat, with my parents, as I new the move would not be fair. I totally agree with you; it's just is so sad to see them seperated. I hope your new cat and your dog are good friends too.

Essentially, she's like that mentally disabled kid that gives everyone hugs. She's sweet as could be, you couldn't ask for a nicer cat, but her elevator doesn't go all the way to the top.

I have taken a massive offense to what you have stated about disabled people! With having a disabled son ourselves, you have to deal with you are born with. There are too many arrogant biased people as yourself, not regarding them as equals because their "elevators don't got all the way to the top". I suppose we aren't all born as perfect as you. In future, please refrain from making such derogative remarks.

I am sure Synirr didn't mean to offend anyone, her phraseology wasn't the best perhaps.

Ps, one of my Grandaughters is a special needs child, so i do know where you are coming from.

Well I don't have anyone in my family with special needs but I kinda thought what was said was out of order really. I also don't like to see favouritism with pets in families which is such ashame. Just maybe more thought before saying things like that would be good. However, I love reading Synirrs posts about Bettas and animals, keep them coming!

I do hope you never find yourself a parent to a child as special as mine. He survived meningitis and meningococcal septicemia. I am deeply offended. there is so much I want to say, but am simply too angry to address you with thought and a civil tone, so I will leave it there

I wish you had given others such as myself the same consideration

Yeh, but it's terribly cruel.

Sorry, but in my opinion - keeping birds as pets is totally wrong.

You will probably tell me that your birds are 'happy' and well looked after. But at the end of the day, birds shouldn't be kept in cages. It's just wrong.

And keeping a cat alongside having birds? You stated that your cats have learned to leave them alone while your watching, but what about when your not? Poor birds.

Paul.
