Besides cost per dose, why is Prime considered better than the AmQuel Plus/NovaQuel combo. It seems like AmQuel does more in terms of detoxifying nitrates and organics at the regular dosage, as opposed to Prime which does so at higher the recommended dosage. I'm not looking for something to replace water changes. But better nitrate detoxification can't hurt. And it appears that NovaQuel may do a better job detoxifying heavy metals.
Please make sure you are comparing Prime to AmQuel Plus and not regular AmQuel. AmQuel Plus apparently addresses some of the shortcomings of regular AmQuel...detoxifies but does not remove ammonia and nitrites and therefore does not interfere with bacteria...does not alter PH, etc.
It seems like people's complaints about AmQuel Plus are actually tied to regular AmQuel. I'm just curious what the true difference is.
