Hi all

been away on holiday for a week, before i went all was good in the tank.

When i retuned I noticed that my german blue ram is missing, I had only been away for a week and she was fine when we left,

I have done a 25% water change and thouroughly checked the tank etc, but she no where to be found.

Today my mollie has a very bent spine, almost as if her tail is broken, she can not swim as she can not move her tail, and her back has a definate arch to it,

the water stats

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 10 or slightly more.

My friend fed my fish every other day and was very good at only feeding for 2 mins what they eat. she said she didn't see a dead fish.

Help

Bent spines are bad news i'm afraid point to fish tb and internal parasites, lost any fish to dropsy lately.
Check the anus to see if its red and inflamed or enlarged, what does it look like when the fish go to the toilet.

Mollie died, didn't look at the anus, but its tail was curved one way, like those red fish you get out of christmas crackers.

No, lost none to dropsy, but don't know what happened to the ram haven't lost any fish for a long time now, haven't added any either as knew we were going away.

Fish poo is quite dark, black like, but i will check again this morning.

Should i treat tank for the sake of the other fish, although they seem fine at the moment.

I have a white molly with the same symptoms in quarantine, her poop is reddish...what does that mean?

Dont know what reddish poo is, my fishes poo isn't black like i thought, it is just normal, browny colour, depending what i feed.

She was definatley fine when we got back from hols, then started to sit on the bottom of the tank, she basically got sick and died within 2 days, very quick.

Will watch the rest closely.

I would look into internal parasites as red poo yes is a sign if not been feeding bloodworms, I think black poo can also be a sign of them.

Oh no, I thought he had fin rot! So internal parasites? Does that mean my other fish could have it too? Though you know all my other fish look really healthy, I have no idea what to do with the molly that is in quarantine...could my other fish have fin rot but I just dont know it?

Do you know of something I could or should treat the whole tank with? THanks!

What your location.

I am in CA. So can I put a lil bit of table salt in his water? How much salt per gallon? Do I have to buy aquarium salt? I dont have a lot of money to spend much more on this fish this month, since Ive $550.00 on the tank since Feb of this year. Thanks for your help!

Don't need the salt need an internal parasite med.

Yes well I'll have to get some then...thanks for all
