What are the benefits of coral sand? & Live sand?
Do both do pretty much the same thing? or are they very different?

coral sand is made up of coral that has been eroded. live sand is made up of broekn up fish bones hence the word 'live'

but wouldnt broken up fish bones, make it dead? :p

Unseen, get off the net and get back to work you lazy git!

Live sand is "live" becasue it is seeded with the beneficial bacteria which handle the nitrogen cycle in the tank.

coral sand helps keep your pH at the right level, if your using live rock live sand isnt neccesary

So basicially live sand does the same thing as live rock?

If they conditions were right, could it make a dead rock live?

go manor park and see how much a 2 oscars (1 tiger + 1 albino) jaguar chichlid, 6 red hook silver dollars and a green terror cost plz bro. also get me 2 large paving slabs and 5 thin ones too. thanks

my tank is cycled now

To go further.....one must be careful that they use aragonite or coral based sand to help to maintain buffering capability of your system. Youl would NOT want to add silicate type sand, or, play sand. 'Live', as mentioned above, simply implies that the sand has been seeded by beneficial bacteria, and, also as above, is not critical if you are using fully cured LR. SH
