I need help im only a beginner with fish, I recently has a turtle in my tank and have now got tropical fish. I had 2 kissing Gouramis , 6 Guppys, 1 Plek (Ancistrus Catfish),2 Clown Loachs ,2 Black Neon Tetras
and 1 Siamese Fighting Fish. I have had the fish less than a month and now i have lost my Siamese Fighting Fish, 1 pink kissing fish, 2 Guppys, 2 Clown Loachs and 1 Black Neon Tetra. I lost the 2 Clown Loachs and kissing Gouramis to White Spot and now i one of the guppys have it, i have to pregnant female guppys and also i think the black neon tetra is pregnant i have just got some Anti White Spot plus treatment and added a few drops into the tank today and have been advised to carry on adding a few drops every 24 hrs until the end of the week and see if it clears up, the temp of my tank is 78F and the PH is at 7.6.
So i need help in what i need to do here as i fear i may loose all fish, i have been advised just to let them all die and start a fresh, give the tank a thorough clean out and leaveit cycle for a week.
Could any one help me as i dont want to loose my fish, I also need help on the Baby guppys when they are born in what i do.

Thanks

Hi Joanne I am new here myself but what they will want to know right off is how big is the tank, Did you cycle it, what are the water parameters, how often do you clean, what is your routine, do you have a heater in the tank, how hard is the water, what is the ph.

The neon tetra is not pregnant with babies. They are egg layers. Gouramis grow large and aggressive. Guppies are hard water fish, neons like soft water.Bettas and gouramis tend not to be a good combo as they are of the same family and fight.
I am betting you stocked a new tank ful of fish without cycling the tank. Please do a google search on cycling. Tell us the questions above so we can help you. DO NOT buy any more fish!
Did you clean the tank well before you added the fish as turtles can carry some nasty things.

To help with the whitespot and prevent it from spreading, clean the gravel/sand with a hoover and do a water change of around 30%. Make sure when you add new water it is treated with dechlorinator. Turning the heater up to around 82F will also help it

For new tanks you need to cycle the filter first, which lets the bacteria build up to remove the ammonia and nitrites in the water. If you've just added fish without doing this, it's likely the ammonia and nitrite levels will be high and will harm the fish. Doing frequent water changes at least every other day will help keep the levels low.

Have you got a water test kit to test for pH, ammonia, nitrites and nitrates?
