Been Down All Day!

What the hell went on earlier? i've been trying to get on all day (seriously, was up at around 8am and only now i can get on!!)

I think it might be part of a wider attack going on at the moment. 4 of the sites I use everyday have been down/hacked

Well it maybe a perfectly honest glithce in the system, but the fact that the Database error screen had popped up suggests that the database has possibly reached its maximum capacity to effectivly handle the requests its received.

If the database is not maintained for a while it can become a bugger to handle and every now and again falls over. The fact that is has been down all day would suggest the admins have been working hard to recover the data from a backup (just guessing here)

It doubt it was malicious, although it would have been nice to put the forum administration screen up to inform users that the site was being worked on.

I go into a panick mode everytime this happens. I'm afraid it might not come back or something. I doubt that would ever happen, but I can be a worrier

I had serious withdrawls yesterday, I had to go and join another similar forum to get my fix.

There was a DB crash yesterday and it took quite a while to get it back up. That resulted in the IPS error message and also in not being able to get on.
