Hey everyone. I thought I would share my babies with you guys. I just started keeping bettas again in April of this year (after my last betta was killed by one of my other fish in February/March of 2005). Six of my bettas where shipped to me by BettaBum. The others are all from my Wal*mart. Most of my boys are in large (1.5 – 2 gallon) Rubbermaid containers. They are all very happy and healthy living in them, but they will be moved to real tanks after I get a new place with my husband and when I go back to work, which should be in the next couple months. Just thought I’d let you know why some of the pictures aren’t the clearest.
I put them in alphabetical order, and by tail type. First is VT, then PK, and lastly CT.
First up is Cory. He is one of the six I got from BettaBum. He is pretty calm aside from flaring a lot. But he really only does it when he sees the PK girls in the next tank over.
Cory:
Second is Draco. He was the first boy I got this year. Like I said, it had been a year since I had had a betta because of my last one getting killed. But this guy started a betta bug that will hold me for a long time to come I’m sure. This boy is crazy!! He flares second most (my CT being first) out of all 14 of my bettas. He wasn’t much of a bubblenester for a while, but when he does build them, they are HUGE and thick!
Draco:
"Look at that handsome devil! I must protect my waters!!"
Third is the first female betta I ever got, Dusk. I have unfortunately been battling a bad case of bacteria with this girl for about the last month. Luckily she’s the only one with it. I will put a picture of what she looked like before, and what she looks like recently. I haven’t taken any pictures of her in the last week to two weeks, so she might look a tad different, but close enough.
Dusk:
Fourth is Halo. He was one of my many impulse buy bettas. He is a very calm betta. RARELY ever flares. I think I’ve only seen him do it once. He’s gorgeous…if he wasn’t VT I would be dying to breed him.
Halo:
"What are you looking at??"
Fifth is one of my two newest boys, Jack. His coloring is amazing. He is a neon purple color on top of bright red. Pictures do him no justice at all!!! I haven’t gotten to see much of his personality yet because I just got him yesterday, but he seems sweet so far.
Jack:
"Mommy, aren't I a cute little boy?"
Sixth is Jesse. He is one of the guys I got from BettaBum. He is a sweetie. He always does the “wiggle butt†dance when I walk in the room. It’s the cutest thing ever!
I also think it is cool how his color changes depending on what kind of light his is in. The two pictures I’m posting of him will show you that.
Jesse:

Seventh is my other newest boy, Munkey. He is the first yellow betta I have seen in person. I named him Munkey because I wanted something that was to do with bananas but didn’t want to actually name him Banana. Monkeys eat bananas, so I just went with Munkey. And the U is because I don’t like common spellings.
Munkey:
Eighth is Nair. I used to love this boy so much, but in the last month or two he has gotten an attitude that I just can’t stand. I put him away from the other bettas about a week or two ago. He’s only by Dusk now. And since that move, he has seemed to stop being as much of a grump. He has even been building bubblenests, which he didn’t really do that much before. But he is beautiful.
Nair:
Ninth is Peaches. She is the only female I have gotten from BettaBum. I tried to put her into a sorority with my PK girls, hence why her tail is split. I ended up separating them because they were picking on her pretty bad and I could tell she was getting really stressed. So she is happily living in her 2 gallon again. Sorry the second picture isn’t real clear.
Peaches:
Tenth is Raz. I got him from BettaBum as well. Now this boy has some BEAUTIFUL coloring on him. If the light hits on him in just the right way, watch out!!! He has a depression that hits him for a few days every once in a while. He’ll sit on the bottom of his tank for a day or two only coming up for air and food. But then he snaps out of it and is happy and perky, building nests like you’ll see in one of the pictures.
Raz:

And eleventh is Waffle. Don’t tell the others, but he is my favorite VT that I have. He looks like a grumpy old man but he is the sweetest boy!! I love him to pieces. I also got him from BettaBum. He was a rescue. The first picture I put up was taken by BettaBum so you can see how much his tail has grown back since she first got him. It has grown more since the last picture I got of him also, I just haven’t taken pictures recently.
Waffle:

Twelfth, and moving on to PKs, is Lucy. She's my newest female. She is huge, and mean. But she's cute. She is also very quick which is why there is only one picture of her.
Lucy:
Thirteenth is my other PK, Madie. She was my second girl ever. She was very sweet up until I tried to make a sorority tank and she must have gotten the survival instincts and she's kinda braty now. But I still love her.
Madie:
Fourteenth, and last but not least, my only CT, Duckling. I got him from BettaBum. He is crazy. He is constently flaring even when he can't see any of the other bettas. And I know he is dying to breed because he keeps building HUGE bubblenests very quickly then he leaves them there for a few hours then totally destroys them only to have a new one built in an hour or so. I think he's like, "Okay see this pretty nest, now add a girl!" then I don't add one so he's like, "FINE!!! Screw it then!!!!" and tears it all up. But in an hour he's like "Maybe she'll put a girl in there this time if I build a new nest...." and then it goes on and on.

I hope you enjoyed all my beautiful bettas. When I move out of my mom's I hope to get more and possibly start breeding.

I really enjoyed that....looking at your babies...they are all beautiful....for about a minute I forgot how hot I am !
