Beautiful Betta

hi guys i was at pets at home in the uk looking for a new stand for my fish i havent yet got any fish because of delays and i saw the most beauitful betta ever it had a black head and a kind of matalitc purple body and tail strange but beautiful nice betta but i have to wait a week and three days coz i gotta wait 3 days before i can get fish and then a gotta have neon tetras first im not sure why and then i can get the betta

Why do you think you need to get neons first? they don't seem to do well in new tanks, even if properly cycled; they can also potentially be nippy towards bettas if in too small a shoal.

I am assuming you have not cycled your tank if you think you have to wait a few days to add fish? If you dont cycle your tank for approx 6-8 weeks before you put the fish in, or cycle it with fish in and follow instructions to remove the toxins from the water on a daily basis then your fish will suffer and die. Read up on this link carefully before you get any fish

Neon tetras should never be added to a tank less than 6 months mature as they are very sensitive to water quality and will not do well in a tank with any traces of ammonia and nitrites which an uncycled tank will have . I suggest you read up on tropical fish by googling them to find out which fish can live suitably together and their needs before you buy any as bettas cant be kept with some species.
