Beardies - How Quick Do They Grow?

Hi,
I have heard these guys grow pretty quick so thought it would work out cheaper if i bought a little one and get it used to handling etc.
But how quickly do they grow?

Within a year it will be at least 15 inches long, if not longer. My girl reached 16.5 inches by her first birthday. Males can easily get to 20-24 inches long.

HOWEVER, you shouldn't handle them until they are at least 8 inches long, as they are very skittish as youngsters and may jump out of your hands.
