8) I need an opinion. I vacation every summer at the Jersey shore Wildwood to be exact. I would like to bring home some of the natural sand and maybe some shells and such to add to my tank (FOWLR) . Would this be potentially harmful to my fishes or would it be OK? We never have any beach closings because of "Dirty" water in Wildwood and they do advertise as having the cleanest beaches on the East coast. I know that most of the critters I manage to get home alive probably won't tolerate the warmer conditions in my tank but I mostly like the color of the sand down there and thought it would make a nice two tone with what I already have in my tank.

Not sure if it can hurt your tank but i personaly would not take a chance :)

It most likely wouldn't be dangerous to add these things to your tank, assuming they're clean, scrubbed free of bleach, and free of any dead animals.

Are you certain there are no laws against taking animals? In Florida, you can't take any live shells without severe fines . . .
