The other day I was looking at Franksaquarium and came saw that they were selling batik spiny eels. I've never heard of these before or seen pictures of any eels that resemble them

Does anybody Know anything about them?

I dont suppose you have a scientific name do you? Any info will be helpful. Also have a look on fishbase, see if there is anything on there.

I've asked him regarding this eel some time ago.

If I remember correctly, he said it could either be M. caudiocellatus or M. unicolor. I suppose he concluded that it's the former though. Gets to 8", freshwater and peaceful I believe. Maybe he has updated information on it now.

They get to 8 inches huh, well I guess that rules them out as an eel like fish for my 20 gal

Thanks for the info :good:

Have you check the "Brookstream Loaches" section of franksaquarium? There's a number of serpentine loaches there.

Yeah I looked on there but then I saw the shipping charges

On Friday I went to petsmart and saw that they had pangio javacius so I got 4 of them. They're so cool, they slither up and down the glass like crazy and then just stop and rest :fun:  They especially like hiding behind the powerhead.

Unfortunately one of them died yesterday :rip:

pangio javacius? google search came out nothing. anyway i think you meant kuhli loaches

It's actually spelled Pangio javanicus, that's probably why Google didn't come up with anything.
