Fish Herder
I have some Barley Straw in my pond at the minute to try and clear some of the algae in there. One of my fish was missing, so i did a test of the water. The readings are normally about 40 Nitrates, but this time the test was clear (i havent seen a yellow nitrate test since the beginning of the cycle of my fish tank).
The Ammonia test was a rather watered down yellow (0), NitrItes were bright blue (0), and the NitrAtes were yellow (0). Ive never seen this from my pond before. The only difference is the Barley Straw.
I found my fish dead
couldn't find a thing wrong with her. I kind of expected to see a bit of an ammonia spike (she was a large fish), and we have a few dead tadpoles in the pond too - fish just wont leave them alone and the pump is rather strong
