Bark Half-logs For Reptiles

Y'know those bark things used for shelters for reptiles? Are they aquarium safe? I want to use one in my aquarium, but I wanted to be sure it's okay first.

like bogwood? if so then the are safe

arnt they made of cork? if so cork floats so might have to attach it to something to sink it but yea id say should be ok

i accidentally bought one of these reptile ornaments not too long ago, thinking it was safe for use in aquariums.

it turned out that the ornament had been sprayed with an anti-microbial agent which made it unsafe for fish. so if the half-log has anything like that on it, it could potentially harm the fish. that's why i don't look at reptile ornaments anymore.

oh i dunno if id take the chance to be honest with u since its not driftwood its a hardwood and it will eventually rot much in the way mopani does

not really aquatic wood in my opinon
