Bare Bottom Betta tank

Here's the tank I mentioned with no gravel..it does have a small pebble or two in it but that's it. She has a fuller plant on the left that doesn't show in the pic, but you get the idea

It looks really clean! What keeps the plants from floating away? You think I could substitute plastic plants, even though they might float?

I think the bare bottom gives the effect that it is clean. Still - good tank!

I like the tank, but what I really had to comment on was the fishie in it. SHE IS SO CUTE!!!!! I want her! Lovely little lady wuv!

itty bitty~ the plants have a weight on the bottom that prevents them from floating (the khaki colored base that that you can see a little bit)

Thanks julie & eelzor, that's my orange female but it's an old pic, she's blossomed into quite a looker recently...her orange is much more vivid now

Wuvmy betta, I did your deco style for my juviniles in the quart-size containers. They love it! They can hide from the big boys, and also have a place to rest near the surface or in the shade. And their 'lunchbox' home still looks nice. Tenx! Wish I still had a digital camera, though. These guys are as tiny as my female. Maybe even smaller.

any advise on keeping bettas guys as my new small tank is almost reay for some new fish is it big enough? its 23 litres
