So now pay day is coming up and I work in a branch of Pets at home, so 10% off the fuvel based tanks they are moving away from selling in favour of jewle tanks

So I have in my little blonde mind a tank coming together, a brand new one

we have at work at the mo
Cherry barbs
Golden barbs
some small all black barbs

and at home I have pentazona barbs

I am thinking also of adding cory cats because of how strongly they have been recommended as great fish on this site

So what now, what substrate, what plants, how many etc, what do you think, andthing I could add to a 'small' barb tank as a centre piece fish?

are they absolutely all entirely black?? i saw some black-ish ones with orange fins, which were checkered barbs...

i searched for barbs on fishprofiles.com but couldnt find any all black ones. sorry!

A key question is, what size is this tank?

There aren't any common "all black" barbs, although good specimens of Barbus nigrofasciatus are very dark, with the rosy red face.

black rosy barbs??

Ours are really black and a strong red when in a good mood :)

More commonly Black RUBY Barbs, although they have more common names then many. ****** Barb, Red Nosed Barb, Purple Headed Barb, Ruby Barb, Black Ruby Barb, Black Barb, Ceylonese Swamp Barb, Black Lined Barb, Dusky Barb - I have seen all of these names applied to the same fish over the years.
