What do I need to know before I consider purchasing them? Thanx.

Well upside down catfish are great little fish who make a great addition to any tank, you need to keep them in groups i have only 2 at the moment but i think you are supposed to have more! and they will need lots of places to hide under such as bogwood and plants with big leaves. My two are mainly nocturnal but they are lovely fish! :) Good luck

mmmmmmmmmm upside down catfish now they are cool. I warn you the species that you must purchase are Synodontis Nigriventis they reach about 3inces and swim mostly upside down. However when buying these guys shops often get imposters which get much bigger, a common one i keep getting at my local store is synodontis eupterus or the feather fin catfish.
Upside downs like lots of cover and are mostly nocturnal, their natural diet is bugs so blood worm is accepted readily however my three like agae tablets as well. I would say that three is the bare minimum but i am considering buying more as they are shoaling fish!

Banjos i am not so lucky with but i have one survivor out of ten (eeeeeeeep!) but he adores blood worm and protein pellets. He's shy and likes to dig and is mostly nocturnal, give him some cover at the front of the tank and he MAY set up home there mine has and it keeps him out of direct tank light and the loaches!

Buy these guys as they are soooooo cute!

Dont expect to see much of either species once they are introduced into a mature tank, both are strictly nocturnal and will hide away during daylight hours.

banjo cats are great litle fish  , ive got 4 and they shuffle about all day and night right at the front of the tank, must be kept on sand as they like to burrow and will dig up plants. Eats mossy larve, blood worm and most sinking food waffers.
Ok community fish but not to many as they are slow eaters and cant compete for food in a busy tank.

I have 1 upside down catfish but i am getting more soon :good:,he seems fine on his own though, he comes out to eat bloodworm and sinking meat pellets. needs lots of hiding places, like under a piece of bog wood.

hope this helps a bit would like to see pics please when you get them. :good:
