Bamboo Shrimp?

Do you guys have any experience with bamboo/wood shrimp? I am thinking about getting a pair for a future tank set up.

Ive had them before. Dont put in tanks with aggressive or semi aggressivevfish only peaceful community. They get pretty big about 2 to 3 inches. They are filter feeders, they have fans instead of claws and collect particles from the water so constant moderate water flow is a must. They often will hang out next to filter outlets and collect particles from there. As all inverts they are sensitive to heavy metals. As the name suggest they appreciate wood. Id position some wood near a filter outlet.

I was thinking of putting 2 in with some lampeyes in my 20 gallon high. Nothing aggressive in with them.

Feed them with powder food or you can soak your shrimp pellets in a small cup of water. Then squash the food and pour it into the tank for them to eat.

It's best to have sand as they like to shift through the sand for food.
Their claws are like fans/brooms where they can sweep though the sand for food.

I feed them with Shrimp King complete (Dennerle) , Mini algae wafer (Hikari) and Shrimp pellets(Hikari) and some fine Fish food.

Mine sleep under a log with my pangio loaches lol
One of mine unfortunately lost his fans and hasn't molted them back yet. They were bitten off by my neon tetras (ive since rehomed them because they were psycho), but he bites at the sponge filter and he's always pooping so he is eating. Somehow he's tough

A local shop has bamboo shrimp in regularly, and I love the look and behavior. So now I have the stocking at 2 of the shrimp, and a whiptail if I can find one. With some kind of nano fish. I like the look of lampeye killifish.

The Bamboo Shrimps actually originated from my home country.
By the way, don't mix up the Whiptail Red Lizard and the Twig. The Twig is bigger and need bigger tank.

If you can add a Zebra Pleco which grow to only 3"+ will be fantastic.
But a good/nice Zebra Pleco is very expensive unless you get the cheaper variation of Zebra Pleco.
A nice Zebra Pleco will cost more than USD 100 each.
If you get anything less than USD 100, it's usually the different variation of Zebra Pleco.

Another nice fish is the Zebra Otocinclus. But you need to have a group of them and they are expensive.

There are just too many species of fish that are so beautiful.
I have a Starlight Pleco which is very beautiful with blue colour at the tip of its tail.

I have wanted to get a really nice pleco, but they are expensive and mostly out of my price range. I will probably panic when I get my first truly expensive fish. My most expensive to date is a $30 betta. We'll see how it goes. As someone who mostly gets glass and stands 2nd hand, I really need to save up for the more expensive fish.

Yes, some fish are expensive.
I also don't spend much on fish especially we know that they get infections so easily and may die easily.
