I have just added 2 Bamboo Shrimp to my tank which has been running for 2 years now with no copper in it. At one end of my tank I have an internal filter working on full power, at the other end of the tank I have stacked up some rocks so the top of them is in the direct path of the current. Currently the shrimp have been in my tank for around 8 hours and are still feeding off all the algae and leftover food on the bottom, they haven't gone searching for food yet, they have just eaten wherever they have landed.

Does everything sound in working order, and do you have any future tips.

For feeding I have mixed together some flake food and algae pellets in a pestle and mortar to create more of a dust which I plan to drop into my water, would anyone recommend adding any meaty substances to this? Also what do you do when feeding yours.

At the moment one of them is on the side of an algae covered stick and is kind grabbing the algae and sticking it in his mouth, I can't see the other one.

Good news, one of them is sat on the floor in the classic pose of all eight fans out, filtering the water. Progress :D

I do have quite a strong current in my tank so that's why I think the shrimp have not needed to climb up to start filtering.

Very nice closeups, ISO isn't that bad, though I personally wouldn't worry about using a flash on the fish/shrimp, mine don't tend to take notice. The trouble I find is reflections off the glass.

Very nice shrimp and close-ups. I like the dreamy feel to your pictures :)
