I bought 2 of these guys yesterday, and now they are both dead... I know its a short post, but why did they die? Any ideas?

has copper been used in the tank in the past ? quite a few meds contain copper and it kills shrimp pretty fast

yeah, i was going to say that too =]

Also, they will be bullied by bigger, more aggressive fish.

Hmm, no copper has ever touched my water (atleast none that I know of).. as for fish bullys, i dont think thats the case, becasue one kinda died just walking around, then he just stopped.. the other died over night, so im not too sure.

Well what are your water specs? I have ahd mine for about a month and a half and they are doing fine.

Quite possible they were in very bad health to begin with. Most LFS don't take proper care of their fan shrimp.

Shrimps are very sensitive critters and they don't tolerate any Ammonia or Nitrites so checking these will be a good start. Also, they can suffer a great deal of stress from being transferred from place to place, especially if there are differences in water parameters. A long slow acclimatisation is reccommended for them.

Cant remember off my head what my last test results were, but I know the only thing that was "high" was my Nitrate level.

Yeah, probably... they looked a little healthy, so I thought i would "save" them. They had a few others, but died off in their tanks.
