Balas And Oscars

Ok, so since I'm going to need a bigger tank for my bala at some point I was thinking, what else could I keep with them? Well I really like oscars and I know they also need a larger tank. So would they work together? Or would the oscar want a bala snack?

Im almost positive they will work fine together given the tank is large enough. I am getting a 120 gallon soon and i plan on getting an oscar and probably some balas. The only problem i could see is with a huge oscar and small juvenile balas. I am sure someone with more experience will let you know for sure. Good luck.

The Oscar is going to be the problem in that mix. You will probably get better insight in NW Cichlids.

Alright thanks. And yeah I figured if I had the tank set up, let the balas get big and everything then add the oscar so that they're too big for him to get ahold of.
