I was at my colleagues house today giving him some of my fish before i move house (platies and guppies) and i noticed he had 3 bala sharks (200L tank) they are currently about 5-6" each in length and are not at all aggressive (i thought they'd chomp my fish straight up seeing as theyre small and his fish are firemouths and blue acaras to name a few....and 2 juvey oscars which were hassling my guppies from when they went in to when i lieft so they may end up lunch....)

Anyway,to my question.. Would it be ok for me to have 2 bala sharks in my 400L tank when i get it in a few weeks? i hear they grow to over 15" in "a long time" How long are we talking here?

Yes your guppies will deffinately become lunch for those oscars.

I have had my 3 bala sharks for 6 months, they were around 2 inches when i bought them and the 2 biggest are now around 6 inches so in my experience they do grow fairly quickly, mine are in a 400litre tank and have plenty room.
