Bala Shark

i bought a couple bala sharks back when they were 2" and now only one survived and is thriving at about 5". the odd thing is arent these docile? recently hes been bullying a severum about the same length and picking fights with a 6" severum. he usually has the smaller sev backed up in the corner while he goes at it with the larger sev. is this usual? do i get rid of him or what?

id get a few more balas if you have a big enough tank they need to be in groups of 3 at the very least.the aggresion will be kept in the group then imo

Bala's are generally not aggressive at all, do these large fish have enough room? How big is the tank?

the tank is 130 gallons so there should be enough room! and im actually getting rid of the bala

Getting rid sounds a good idea, anything less than 6x2x2 is going to cramp the balas in with regards to swimming room.

Very strange, your tank is plenty big enough. Maybe its because he's on his own, they are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least 3, preferrably more.

If you're getting rid of him though, problem solved.
