Hello all just wondering what are the requirements of a Bala shark? I always wanted one but was not sure about the tank size. Anyone have any idea?

I bought on impulse and I am regretting it. They are lovely fish but are skittish. They also jump a lot. Mine are still small and I am trying to get a bigger tank etc. Do think carefully. I have tewo and am told they will chase until dead so I am unwell at the thought .

if you can believe it they are actually schooling fish... 6 per tank is.. optimal lol

hope ur rich

I've always seen it recommended to have 3 together, not 6. After seeing a couple together, it's hard to believe they're not schooling.

Will chase until dead? Who told you that? They will chase each other while playing, but mine do that with 6 in the tank.

The minimum number is 3 but as with all shoaling fish (I don't believe these fish do actually school) the more the merrier, though tank size is a huge issue with a fish that can hit 14".
