Bailing water

Yo,

O.k, so, right now I have a nitrite spike, so I know that I have to do water changes. Well, it appears, I can't find the siphon, and it is too late to run out to the LFS. Is it o.k to bail water out of the tank just for tonight?

I don't see why not. Maybe use a glass and fill it slowly then dump into your bucket.

Should be fine. I've often done that to change water or to just remove water from a tank. Use your bucket, a bowl, a cup, or any container that doesn't have holes in it. Them containers with holes don't work so well for scooping out water
