I've recently ran across this little fish, and am wondering how a few would do in a 10-g planted tank (sand substrate, filter for a 20g, lots of caves/rocks). I can't find a whole lot on these fish, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
. The chameleon fish (Badis badis) can grow up to 3" and needs a minimum of 20-gallons. It needs a well-planted tank with a lot of caves and driftwood. They are very territorial towards their own species, and it is reccomended that they be kept in a community tank. If you keep them in a species tank, the "family groups" of females and one male will be formed and headed by that one male. In other words, if you have more than one male, things can get very territorial and "touchy." They are carnivores. Reccomended pH: Neutral (Between 6.5 and 7.5), KH: 10-15, Temperature: 73F-79F. Good luck!
