Fish Fanatic
Went into pets at home today to look at live plants, and went to have a look at the fish too. There were 6 Siamese fighters in the tiny 5x5 tanks connected with the same filter. 4 out of the 6 looked nearly dead, lying on the gravel on their sides with gills barely moving! One was swimming into the glass and sinking and there was one boy who looked like he'd just arrived. Gorgeous lilac and blue colour, as of then looked healthy.
The staff didn't seem to care that their fish weren't well and were dying, some tanks had dead fish in and they were leaving them to be eaten!!
I had to bring the 'healthy' betta boy home, couldn't risk that he'd end up like the others! I had a spare plastic 19L tank up the attic and some Caribsea black moon sand left in a bag from my 120L, so he is living in there for now until I can get him a permanent home and get it cycled!! Until then I will be doing daily changes.
Is it just pets at home in the isle of man with this problem?? Makes my blood boil!!!
