not bad at all ben, a lot of people do that actually. The challenge is getting it diced up to a point that's small enough that the fish can eat it but not too small where they don't care
well i tried it. It was really hard to cut. But they scoffed it down. Amazed at how big some of the bits looked once in the tank compared to how tiny they were on the plate.
One thing I have read though is that sometimes food used for human consumption (such as prawns) can still carry parasites they will infect inverts in the tank.
There was a big debate about it on another forum. Not sure how likely it is to be a problem (like Ski said lots of people do this and dont seem to have any issues) but maybe something to be aware of.
hi,my brother inlaw has a fishing boat, he gets fresh prawns and puts them in for his oscars, they love them, the fish go mad when they see him.and i know they get them regular.
To be fair Oscars eat anything, not that i agree with it but i have seen a mate in the past feed his pet 'O' battered cod and chips lol! ...i wont go into some of the live stuff he used to chuck in there.
well clowns loved the prawn, read it gets them in breeding condition. I reckon mine are starting to show spawing behaviour so i thought i would try a prawn every now and again.
