I need help. I recently started my first tank and bought two trolleys? The first died within about 3 hours. I came home tonight to my other upside down. He/she is still alive and reacting to being touched but then just floats back down. I looked at the temp of the water and its at 88 degrees. Faulty heater I guess. But does anyone know what I can do to try and save it? Please help ASAP

Thats terrible, I've always been afraid of something like that happening with a heater. I'm new to the site and to the hobby so I can't say for sure how to help your little guy. However,  you might get help faster if you fill out the info I have pasted below. Obviously the heater is probably the cause, but this way you can rule out all other possibilities or things that may have added to the problem. Also, what are Trolleys?

Mollys. Sorry
I thought thats what you might have meant but didn't want to guess.... I'm sure you have already taken the heater out. I would let it cool down slowly on its own that way if he does make it, it won't be such a drastic temperature change. Good luck, I hope he makes it.

88F is WAY too high, BUT bringing the temp down too quickly will ALSO be a problem.

First, turn off the heater...

Second, do a partial water change... Add the new water SLOWLY, and try to bring the temp down to about 80F with the water change.  (a 50% water change, where you add 74F should do it nicely.)  Add the water back slowly over the course of an hour or two.

Third, is your tank cycled?
