Bad betta

my betta eats him self. Now he split his tail. What can I do to stop him? He has hiding places and plants etc. He so naughty. I dont want him to end up killing himself. And I thought he was getting better. But now Im going on vacation in 2 days, and Im worried hell die while Im away. I know my aunts going to be fish sitting, but she doesnt know anything about bettas.

i have a betta that constantl bites his tail and i cant get him to stop no matter what! now he has bitten off so much that he cant reach it anymore so i guess he has momentarily stopped. all i can say is add some stresscoat novaqua or a similar slime coat protector and hope for the best. if you have any bettamax, maybe you could put him in that before you leave.

ill be doing that. Dont have any betta max. and I dont think im going to any stores before I go. I really want to go get somemore bettas though.

sound like the stressed birds that pluck their feather i believe cause of stress and if they are wild but those are birds

thats what my mom says. but we have the containers. Bettas are addicting. i always want more. I dont know why though. I want to put a betta in my tank, but I think that the danios will eat him.

actually i saw on another forum the other day that someone had a betta with danios and they were complaining how the danios would push the betta out of the way and eat his food. they were too quick for him so id probably go against that idea.

if he wont eat his food try changing it to another brand... i know with mine i gotta feed him one little freeze dried blood worm before i even try the pellets lol o well it works
