Bad Algae Bloom

my brothers tank is very green and cloudy, cant even see the fish! been told off the lfs, its algae bloom, he tryed pro zorb and barley straw and turned his lites off like the lfs reccomended, but still no better!!!

been like this for 2 weeks now, any other things he could try

Try posting in the planted section for better advice, probably will advise stuff like complete blackout of lights for a few days and massive water changers but im no expert so best to post in planted section.

you could try aa aquarium/fish r fun's internal uv sterilizer. they come in 9w for up to 53 gallon tanks, and 24w for up to 106 gallon tanks. i got a 9w for my 10/20 gallon tanks and the water cleared in a week.
