Bacteria Bloom

My water is cloundy and everyone keeps telling me that it is a beneficial bacteria bloom. Since it is beneficial, should I let it be? Or will I have to do something for it to go away?

Its the 55 and it has been fine till now cycling was done a couple weeks ago

What are your current levels for nitrite and nitrate?

Nitrite is at 0 and Nitrate is at 40.

Personally, I'd do 25% water changes two or three days apart until the nitrates got down below 20ppm.

If it is a bacteria bloom, chances are good it'll be gone by the time you've done that.

That just masks the problem. The water changes suggested are a better choice.

I've found its not really uncommon to get a bacteria bloom after the cycle is complete it's happened to me before. Lasted a few weeks then went away. all the while the water params were great
