Setting up my new tank...

Size is ....

47" Width
31" Height (28 at front)
5" Depth

I have been trying to look for a black background, however cannot find one which is 31" or larger in height. Does any one know where i can get one for this size?

Or..should i just paint it? Which paint will be suitable? Normal black gloss?

Or, you could pop to your local art store, grab a piece of card/plastic/plasti-card in black, or paint that black, rather than painting your actual tank....

I usually paint the back and depending on location none, one or both sides black with ordinary blackboard paint. Usually takes a couple of coats to get a decent finish.

:hyper: try this site could be useful www.aquaessentials.co.uk

I used a water based gloss paint. Applied it using a roller. Once dry it peels off like a plastic coat if you want to remove it.

i got hold of some background, blue on 1 side, and black on the other. How does it stick though? shall i just use double sided tape? or should i wet it and stick it on? thanks

I use blue-tac but corners f the background do un-stick form time to time which is annoying but i use it cause im never sure if i want to permanetly keep that background or not
Electrical tape is best but double-sided tape works too :good:

actually , i might get some black insullation tape... that should do the trick... thanks
