Back Into Bettas After 20 Year Lay Off

Well I have breed bettas years ago and have recently started back due to be at home alot due to health. But with these I get them to go through the whole ritual and get eggs in the nest and then.........nothing. Im not sure if the male eats them or what.
UPDATE: I had a breeding take place on 8/31 and this morning 9/6 I see fry moving about under the nest. I do NOT remember it taking that long. And tips or advice as to why it took so long??

Could you tell us more about the tank? Temperature, ammonia/nitrate/nitrite/pH? How often are you changing the water, is it filtered?

How many fry can you see?
