Hi to all TFF'ers,
Im getting back into fish keeping after a having a break for a few years.
Ive enjoyed the hobby for 20 years and got that itch again just recently so there was only one thing to do ;)
Ive gone back to my roots and set up a 3ft low tech tank.
Ive added 9 (soon to be 11) Anubias plants. All of them are attached to either bogwood or a fake piece of driftwwod i placed in the tank.
I used fine black gravel and a black background which makes everything in the tank "pop" visually.
I diffused the light by placing a piece of flyscreen over the top glass and the plants love seem to love it.
Tank inhabitants ;-
6 x Scissortail Rasboras
15 x Neon Tetras
8 x Ember Tetras.
And a partridge in a pear tree : )
Looking forward to chatting with everyone and having some fun
ET.

Hi 👋🏻 welcome back to the hobby! Would love to see some photos of your tank, don't be shy about sharing some 👍🏻

Hi CB
thank you for the welcome.
Will get photos up asap...just tidying the tank up after a complete transfer/upgrade.

Here's my tank so far.
The colour in the photo is a bit weird as the LED light washed it out a bit, sorry about that.
I like to keep the whole thing simple, yet effective and leave plenty of swimming space for the fish too.
Ive got to attach some Anubias nana petite to the piece of driftwood on the right.
I might pop a couple of nice rocks in there too but we'll see what happens.
Havin' fun and lovin' it 👍

Lovely tank, I really like the simplicity and the dark substrate makes the anubias and the fish pop infront of the black background. I've taken to gluing anubias to little rocks, much easier!

Thank you CB, i appreciate it.
Ive got a little way to go yet but im not going to over-do it.
I want to keep it simple yet visually pleasing.
It's time to sit back and just stare at the tank for a while and let the imagination take over 👍

I'm sure in time you'll have created something that will leave us 'thunderstruck'...

I'll see myself out....

🤣
Yeah, this whole project started off with doing the tank Back in Black.
I see what you did there! It's a shame you went with all those tetras, you could have had a 'whole lotta Rosie' barbs...

No I'm done, I swear...

My Scissortails would probably disagree. Rosie would turn their lives into a Highway to Hell.
I'll just s-l-o-w-l-y back away now and go over there somewhere

Hi and welcome to TFF... :hi:
And welcome back to the hobby...
Minimalism in a tank can look great as well... 👍

Thank you emeraldking.
Its a strange thing you know, creating a minimalistic tank layout that is pleasing to the eye can actually be a little bit of a challenge sometimes.
I want to experiment with accenting areas around the driftwood/plants.
I was thinking of using pieces of Dragon rock but i havnt decided yet.
