well, i had a apple snaily in my 10g about a month ago, but he was a pest, eating away at my java ferns (which are now dead) so i took him out and put him in our plantless 33g. i just took a look in my 10g and found TWO baby snails sneakin around on the glass!

why did it take me a month to see them?!

how do snails have babies? and how did they lay dorment so long, in my nearly bare 10g tank?! theres no hiding spots besides a skull decor, which i can see into it's mouth....

can someone solve the mystery? :X

Hi steppy
apple snails lay their eggs above the water line
they then hatch and fall to the bottom.
what substrate do you have? If it is gravel that
could explain why you failed to notice them for so long.
baby apple snails are very tiny and take a month or so
to grow to a size we can casily see.

HTH

above the water line? wierd....but ya, are eggs easy to see, or no? cuz i didn't notice anything! I have a rocky gravel...i lost the snails...i can't find them anymore :X little buggers....how big do they have to be before making more babies?
