This is a cool story that I wanted to share. Some background, i have a 38gal with 8 skirt tetras(and other fish), both larger and between 2-3.5 years and all seem content and healthy. A month ago I found a baby skirt tetra fry in the top of my tank, I made him a net nursary inside the tank and today I finally let him loose. He joined the skirts quickly and his color is so dark black now I think he's happy to be with his peeps haha...I understand breeding skirts can be difficult especially by accident like this.. I actually thought he was a piece of algae floating

welcome to the forum

great story...I have 4 black skirt tetras in a 35 gallon tank ... sure would like to see a few fries

please vote in the present FOTM contest
we have a Tank of the Month contest starting Jan 1st..hope to see you enter

Congratulations, if you can post a picture of him. I have up to 4 red eye tetra fry in my tank the oldest one comes out and joins the neon and ember tetras but runs and hides when the a eye tetra shows up. The others hide all day and I only see them at night. I am hoping to see a ember or neon fry show up one of these day. I also did not plan on having any fry.

I'll get a pic of him after and post here if i can, contest sounds interesting too I might enter thanks for the replies. Grats on the fry too(edit, posting tomorrow)
